HEIGHINGTON DANCERS ENTERTAIN ?AT HOME?. Saturday 10 June 2006
With the benefit of a fabulous warm and sunny morning , Heighington folk dancers entertained an audience of parents , grand-parents and friends with an exhibitions of several dances from their repertoire on the school?s playground .
For several of the guests this was a first opportunity to see and hear the dance and music which motivates this more able group and to learn a little of the history and development of the dance side .
Musical accompaniment came from the skilful fingers of Christine Williamson who also guided the children through their first public Maypole dance.
Especial thanks to Barbara Watson and Carol Gaunt who provided delicious fruit scones and welcome drinks at ?half time? and also to Michelle Goundry who helped the dancers prepare and assemble.
