School Re-Opens Tuesday 2nd September 2008

Mr Parker

Hello. I'm Mr Parker and I am the Headteacher of this school. I've been here since 1995 and have enjoyed every minute of the past twelve years.

One of my proudest moments whilst at this school, was to be nominated by a parent for the BT Teaching Awards Primary Headteacher category. The whole school supported me and much to my amazement, I won the regional nomination.

This award though was for the whole school: the staff who are a brilliant team, the pupils who are a dream to work with and the parents who are so supportive.

This school is fundamentally a village school and our vision, values and aims are designed around that aspect but our aspirations for the children will always be high. Every child has talents and we will endeavour to find a way to bring those talents out and to celebrate the successes of every child.

What does the future hold? Well, education is changing so rapidly that this is hard to predict. I welcome the opportunity to bring greater creativity into our work, and to place a greater emphasis on the Arts but there are still more dramatic changes ahead.  The potential for ICT is still only just being developed but we will be working to ensure our children are given every opportunity to experience the very best provision.

From September 2007 we are now partnered with Bishopton Redmarshall CE Primary in a federation and I am headteacher of both schools. This entails spending time in both schools and makes me less visible but no less interested in what is happening. The partnership we have entered has already had significant benfits to our school and I am sure we will move from strength to strength as we learn how to make the very best us of all the additonal experience and expertise available to us.
